OUGD603 - Brief 05 - Packaging Final Development

The final packaging is developed from the type heavy design. Each flavour is coloured using a colour that reflects the chocolates flavour. This type is to be foiled, once the packaging is printed onto the textured stock. Extra information was added to the back, using the typeface specified in the brand guidelines, a short introduction and space to include ingredients.

To indicate that the product is free-from, three icons were created to identity that the product was free-from dairy and nuts and that it was vegan. Using imagery that is recognisable, these three icons were developed for that use. The icons are coloured using the brands iconic pink. In fitting with the brand it also uses a brand specified typeface with the banner style that can be seen on their current packaging.

To foil the typography on the front of the packaging, the type had to be glued using a silk screen, before applying the foil with a heat press. This process will be completed by a foil press, and using a silk screen does not produce a quality as high as I would have wanted. The packaging was printed onto the textured stock, before the typography is then glued using the silk screen.

The packaging was photographed in situation with elements of it's flavouring. It was photographed using a black background because of blacks connection to luxury. The appropriate equipment wasn't available to photograph the packaging and so the photo's quality aren't very high. They had to be edited heavily to improve the quality.
