My final leaflet resolution is held in a thick stock envelope in the shape of a high visibility jacket. I have wrapped the thick stock in a high visibility vinyl. I planned to use the vinyl cutter to cut out lettering on the back of the jacket however due to being pressed for time I have decided not to include this. The vinyl on the outside of the stock and the colour and texture of the stock inside is the perfect combination to look like a high visibility jacket. The vinyl I have used is transparent so the texture of the stock that can be seen through creates a really realistic effect.
To fasten the jacket envelope closed I have used a round vinyl sticker as it is more substantial than the original clasp idea that I first decided on using. The leaflet is mounted inside to insure stability in the post and to prevent a loose leaflet from falling out. This creates the effect of the leaflet wearing the jacket.
In the leaflet a small bicycle can be pushed out of the leaflet and ridden round the small map inside. This, paired with small pictograms makes it engaging for the younger target audience. Again due to being pressed for time i have been unable to perforate the bike but in production it would be done this way.
It is designed to be playful as this is what will engage small children, however there is a seriousness to it and it is educational. The use of a coloured stock is really successful and I am pleased with my end result.
