OUGD406 - Studio Brief 03 - Collaborative Exhibition Branding

In this brief I have to work with a team to design the branding for the end of year exhibition that will be showcasing the bank note designs by my year group and the second years ave designed. My group and I need to put together a pitch for the concept, branding, identity and promotional collateral for the License to Print Money exhibition which is taking place at the Bank House in Leeds.

The identity needs to be engaging, and include a promotional campaign and communicate what is unique about this exhibition. We will need to think about how the content, location and exhibitors can potentially inform the design decisions. We will also need to consider who the target audience is and what they need to know about the exhibit, such as dates and time and information about the work that is being displayed.

The Bank House in leeds was designed and built in the 1960s, and was considered a milestone project of the era. It is currently used as office space but is no longer the home of any banking institute. It holds very unique architectural features and it's design, visually, is similar to an upside down pyramid and compiled by a large amount of cubes. This design would be an interesting feature for a branding concept and could inform a variety of design decisions.

When considering ideas for the exhibit, it will be important to think about a name and colour scheme. These two things are important and will form the first impression of anyone visiting. Way finding will be a big part of the concept and form it's identity along with the way the work is presented. These things will all be important to consider when thinking about ideas for our own exhibition.
