OUGD603 - Brief 03 - Union Newsletter

The Brief

Produce an informative and engaging newsletter for the University Union to help promote their activities and events and will engage the students in the Union.

Background / considerations (contextual features of the brief - personality, history, style, etc.)


Consider effective costings as there is currently no budget. Consider the small budget to influence the design.

Consider how to get the students involved with the newsletter in a way that will engage them before and after publishing.
Make it a sought-after product that will visually stimulate and inform.
Give it a friendly tone overall and ensure that it will attract the whole university as its target audience.
Find a printer that will print each issue, taking into consideration the limited budget.

Deliverables (what items are to be designed/made)

A physical printed newsletter and promotional material to advertise its debut launch.


Mandatory requirements (essential requirements that must be followed)



Produce an identity guideline that will inform successive Communication Officers once your term is up.
Up to 6 design boards outlining the brief, research and production.
