Charlotte Igoe's photography is very environmentally conscious, focussing on themes of landscape and wildlife and how human interaction is affecting natural life. Some initial ideas and concepts that can be explored were noted down. From these notes, each idea generated an area of research.
A little research was looked into Irish art and design, because of Charlotte's Irish heritage, this is relevant and a good inspiration for visuals. There was a popular modernist movement that emerged from Ireland and the visual style is an area that can be explored.
Gaelic Type is a typographic movement that emerged from Ireland in the 16th Century. Irish typography has a unique style, so it is a visual element that can be explored. The style of design that Charlotte is looking for, in her suggested inspiration is typographical and so an area of experimentation that can also be explored.
Using the inspiration from suggested visual styles, a selection of designs were drawn together to add to the overall visual inspiration and contribute to the style Charlotte is after.
