After the last meeting, Charlotte and I established that she needed to decide on a final typeface and decide on a stock choice. This stock choice would be the recycled stock and inform the colour combination of her identity and will be the print base of the business cards. The choice of typefaces are sourced from Charlotte's inspiration. They are modern serif typefaces. There are also choices that are reminiscent of Irish Gaelic type.
The most effective way to print on such a textured and thick stock would be foiling. Using a white colour foil will be effective on dark colours. As well as being a contrasting combination, it will create the aesthetic and tone of voice Charlotte is after. She discussed the option of having a photographer card & assistant card, however as the details on her business cards are minimal this wouldn't be needed, however using different designs on each choice of stock can be explored.
A variety of type designs were explored, Charlotte preferred type heavy designs. The use of abstract shapes was also explored with the white foil finish, however it looks busy. To make the use of shape an form even more subtle, the shapes can be deposed into the card.
Charlotte preferred the type heavy designs paired with the subtly incorporated shape and form. An Instagram icon was developed from her chosen typeface and colours. She opted for Spectral Extra Bold and Indigo, Sapphire, Emerald and Forest in the Cairn collection from PaperBack.
