OUGD603 - Brief 07 - Initial Sketches & Feedback

Using the notes that were made from each 7 tracks, various ideas were brainstormed and some initial thumbnail sketches were made that could illustrate the meaning of the songs.

Because the project is using a photographic concept, many of the ideas involve photographing objects that represent the meaning of each song. Objects such as life-saver rings, sledge hammers or wooden toys.

Because a lot of the concepts involve using a for of wooden block, it was decided that all 7 sleeves should be illustrated this way to ensure the covers all link and work as a set.

Feedback was given on this concept and many suggested to photograph the blocks with different lighting and explore the use of shadow. This will prevent the sleeves becoming un-engaging. It was also suggested to use coloured blocks.
