This task was helpful and showed me how the order of information can inform a design decision and affect the overall aesthetic. I also saw how the rest of my class had designed their leaflets and there were lots of creative ways the information changed the design.

OUGD405 - Layout Workshop
In this layout workshop I worked alongside a fellow student and had to decided on the hierarchy of information that was given to us on what to do in the event of a flood. Then with this information we had to create a small leaflet which would engage the audience as well as educate them and let them know the most important bits of information in the order needed.
Me and my partner found ordering the information and simplifying it quite a simple task and decided on a style of presentation quickly. We decided on an image of a neat, homely looking house on the front of the leaflet which then opened like double doors to show the house in a flood. On either side of the doors was the information, most important left to right.
This task was helpful and showed me how the order of information can inform a design decision and affect the overall aesthetic. I also saw how the rest of my class had designed their leaflets and there were lots of creative ways the information changed the design.
