OUGD504 - Study Task 01 - Type in Context presentation

Over the summer, I collected images of the alphabet in the form of cafe and restaurant black boards. While in Belgium I noticed how much detail people had put into their blackboards, advertising offers and specials.

I presented a selection of my photographs, which were taken on a film camera, and suggested some initial ideas of how I could use my images to create a publication. From this, the group I presented to, gave me a few more ideas and expanded on my own.

The ideas I have produced so far include a publication celebrating hand rendered type as a lost art form, a guide book or hand book to inspire cafe owners in producing their own chalk typography and a form of stamp book similar to a loyalty card that some cafes use.

I have also had a few ideas about the production of the publication, however I am going to focus more on the content before planning it's production, but these early ideas will help my concept's content develop.
