To advance the design prototype of the application, designers from the studio ONLY gave a critique on the progress, along with other fellow designers. Many people agreed that the wireframe was successful in making the experience simple and hassle free for the user.
Many suggestions were made that would improve the application, including a number of features which would make the application more convenient for the user. Because the application uses Facebook to create an account, if the application has the opportunity to sync with Facebook events to display which events you are going to as well as Facebook providing a direct link to the application itself, it can make the application a more social experience sharing events with friends. A calendar within the application would also help the user organise their own time. Often people want to sell tickets and often make money from this by making a personal profit which is unfair to everyone else. Because the tickets are currently only viewable within the application, a sell feature that allows the user to sell the ticket to a friend at the original price when they share a private link to friends would allow the user to sell tickets to events they cannot attend as well as giving an equal chance to others to buy tickets at the same price. Many people also felt that the application shouldn't just be limited to club nights, gigs and art events but to sport events as well. The use of Facebook events has been taken into account and other features such as a selling option or a calendar can be features that can be developed into an update for the application.
Many people felt that enabling the use without internet when viewing tickets would be essential as when they are on a night out sometimes they don't have internet to view the tickets. Many people were interested if there would be a service charge with tickets in order for the application to make money without the use of adverts. The service called Event Brite helps create your own event and your own tickets as well as providing a service to sell tickets. The interface Dice has a scanner app for bouncers which allows them to scan tickets which can be viewed in the Dice application. A combination of these features with one platform for events holders to sell their tickets and scan purchased tickets, and another platform for the user to view and buy tickets would benefit the user interface.
With the confusion of creating a symbol for genre and artists, it was suggested to merge the two together where all suggested artists, genres and figures are placed into one category, as the variety of tickets that are sold in the application are too broad. This would allow a much simpler more understandable symbol to represent this section. A suggestion was made of three figures stood together which would represent the feature well. As the choice of typeface has still not been finalised, people agreed that the typeface would inform design. Choose a typeface designed for screen and when it's chosen, it's own style will help inform the design of the application and give the application it's own style. As the application focusses on ease of user access, a left/right hand preference feature in settings would help make the experience comfortable for the user. People also felt to keep the branding consistent to use a grey interface with red type and symbols.
Of all these suggestions, the feature to link events with the users Facebook profile is easily incorporated, creating one section merging all of artists, genres and figures is successful in using a symbol that will be widely recognised. Being able to access tickets offline is a simple function that can be incorporated and the application will aim to include as many tickets as possible which will depend on the events holders who wish to advertise their tickets on the application. Tickets on the application will be low in price as service charges, delivery charges and admin fee's will be unnecessary. The application will make profit by taking a small cut from the ticket sales which will be classed as an advertising fee for the events holders.
