OUGD603 - Brief 02 - Week 3

Day 15 - Drain

This logo experiments with water draining from the word. The scale of water droplets had to be visible with scalability and were made bigger so they are viewable at a smaller scale.

Day 16 - Radiate

Using a tall typeface, Six Caps, the whole type is replicating a heat wave emitted from a radiator. Initial experiments led into the entire typeface being customised.

The final design is underlined to demonstrate that the 'radiate' is being emitted from a surface.

Day 17 - Pill

This logo concept illustrates a pill. It uses typography that is commonly found on medical packaging, Gill Sans.

Day 18 - Fool

This logo concept was created quickly, using the two 'O's to replicate eyes pulling a silly face. A bold sans serif was used as they are overall playful and friendly.

Day 19 - Plum

Initially, a plum stone was illustrated in the negative space of the 'P'. However this wasn't as recognisable as a plum.

The iconic plum silhouette was instead put in place. The typeface ITC Avant Garde felt the most appropriate as the letterforms matched the shame of the plum. Because of the nature of the plum shape, it makes the logo playful and attractive to the audience.

Day 20 - Festive

Because of how relevant the Christmas season is, Christmas iconography was brought into this logo. Elegant serif typefaces were chosen to communicate the seasonal tone of voice, and Christmas baubles were illustrated.

The design wasn't overly engaging so an extra element was introduced, a glass of bubbly.

The bauble 'E's were repositioned until they were in a harmonious and proficiently kerned position.

Day 21 - Slosh

This logo, more illustrative in nature, depicts a literary 'slosh' similar to that of a liquid sloshing in a glass. The terminal of the type is illustrated like a liquid splash. The type is bent round to replicate the circular motion a slosh makes.
